Our trip to Bali in September 2018, all in one post! Enjoy

In September of 2018 our friends, Brewster and Vicki, and us went to Bali for a week.
I took quite a few photos and diligently saved them to various drives but didn't post a blog about our trip.
As I am now "cleaning up" my digital clutter, both soft and hard, I thought I would post the pictures up on a blog.
I am going to post them up in one hit starting from the day we flew to Bali and through to the day we returned.
I've attempted to keep the commentary to a minimum with this blog.
The photos are in chronological order and have a caption when I think it's needed.

On this trip we turned left instead of right, into Business Class

Monday September 3rd 2018

Novotel Bali Ngurah Rai Airport pool.
This place is very good and well worth considering for that first or last night in Bali.

We're off to Lovina

~AUD69 for lunch for 5 people - Brewster, Vicki, Tiz, Marino and Nengah, our driver.
Exchange rate during our entire stay was around AUD 1 to IDR 10,000

Tempeh lunch snack, from a street stall, on our first day at the villa

A well modded little BMX bike near our villa

Walking along Lovina Beach

Sunset at Lovina

It was OK. More handy than great though.

In the morning we went for a walk down to the Lovina Beach pier

This is the guy we rented our bikes from.
Scooters have a small front wheel and lots of motorcycle riders find them to be unsafe because of the small diameter, but we managed OK and without incident.

You have to see this place to believe it!
Completely underrated and a worthwhile place to visit if you are ever in the north of Bali.

The road leading into it is full of tourist knick knack shops

Later that day we rode west until just past the Masjid Urul Iman Mosque.
We noticed it was the end of the school day and as such the roads we going to get very busy,
so we turned around and headed back to Lovina.

We stopped for fuel and admired the mountain range in the background

Dinner was enjoyed at the Jasmin Kitchen. Very quiet but quite good.

After we settled in we went down to Dean Fisher's The Spicery Bistro at Seminyak Square for a drink

Dinner at the Fat Buddha. Really very nice.

The guys at Skull Nation are jewellers that are into hand engraving AND motorbikes.
By "hand engraving" I mean they engrave using hammers and chisels. Real artisanal work.
Here are some of their jewellery pieces.

A walk along the beach

Drinks after a massage at Puri Cendana

We went to Deus Ex Machina, in Canggu.
This where art, bicycles, clothing, food, motorcycles, fashionable barbers, surfing all meld into one very well marketed pot.

On our last night we went to Cuca.
It's not for everyone but Tiz and I recommend it.

Sunday September 9th 2018

This place addresses all the food groups

A little Suzuki with a Triumph tank. It gave us a laugh.

Money exchange. A big rort for any traveler to aware of.

The new airport at Denpasar is a huge leap forward compared to the old one

Bintang!
